Lock View Cottage, awarded a four star rating by Visit Britain, is situated by the Kennet and Avon canal close to all the town amenities yet retaining peace and privacy. It is the perfect holiday home for visiting Wiltshire, Avon and Somerset.

This three-storey stone cottage stands on a quiet road overlooking the canal. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard, providing everything you would expect in a modern holiday home, yet keeping the character of the house. It sleeps up to four people in one double and one twin bedroom and has full gas central heating and constant hot water, making the cottage comfortable and warm even in the winter months. We also have the advantage of a private parking space. Fresh towels and linen are provided along with a few basic essentials for your use.


The Saxon town of Bradford on Avon is steeped in history and this holiday cottage is ideally placed to make the most of all this charming town has to offer. It is just across the water from the Lock Inn cafe with its bicycle and boat hire. Visit one of the town's many restaurants pubs and cafes, all of which are within walking distance of your cottage. Alternatively, walk or cycle along the towpath and have lunch at a canalside pub - no need to take the car! The impressive medieval Tithe Barn and Saxon church are a short walk away, as is the railway station where a 15 minute picturesque train journey will take you to the World Heritage city of Bath. Wiltshire has a wealth of National Trust properties to visit, many of which are within 3 miles of Bradford on Avon It is central for visiting Bath, Bristol, Stonehenge, Stourhead, Longleat, Lacock, Castle Combe, Avebury and Salisbury.

COTTAGE DETAILS

Lounge
The front door opens into a small porch, with space for shoes and coats. The lounge is comfortably furnished and retains much of its original character, such as the original wooden window shutters and stable style doors. Kitchen/Diner
The kitchen is furnished with a pine table and chairs to seat four. It has a quarry tiled floor and a stable door leading into the garden. It is well equipped with new appliances including electric fan-oven and hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and coffee maker. Click here to enlarge picture






Bathroom
The bathroom is spacious and light with ample shelving. It has a bath, thermostatic shower, hand basin and WC. Towels are provided free of charge. Click here to enlarge picture







Bedroom One
The bedroom on the first floor has original wood panelling, cast iron fireplace and features two single pine beds. There is wardrobe space, a large under stairs storage area and a chest of drawers. Bedroom Two

Outside

LOCAL AMENITIES

The property's location is very quiet but all the town's amenities are within walking distance including a swimming pool and library. The cottage benefits from being close to the town's main park and playground areas which are on the opposite side of the canal. The town's tennis courts are situated here and they are usable free of charge. There are children's play areas, picnic benches and access to lovely walks along the river Avon as well as the canal. There are two canalside pubs and a cafe within instant reach of the cottage. For a more extensive choice of pubs and restaurants, the town centre is a ten minute walk, as is the nearest supermarket.

RENTAL TERMS

Gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and tea towels are all included in the property rental price.
A cot and highchair are available free of charge on request.
This is a non-smoking property. Regretfully, pets cannot be accommodated.

PRICES

Prices per week range from £320 in low season to £510 in high season. Bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but 3 or 4 night Short Breaks may also available in off peak weeks or at short notice. Please phone or email for details.
